Victor Company of Japan, Limited (JVC) decided to become its official sponsorship of the 17th FIFA World Cup to be jointly held in Japan and South Korea in 2002.
JVC has been a World Cup sponsor since 1982, when the tournament was held in Spain. This will be the sixth consecutive time to be an official sponsor of the FIFA event.
Through the dedication to this renowned global sporting event, JVC has sought to strengthen our brand image and reputation.

The contract with FIFA is valid for four years. As an gofficial sponsor,h JVC will have the right to erect advertising signboards in stadiums, make use of the eventfs official logo and mascot, advertise its name and products free-of-charge in official publications such as event programs, sell its products in stadiums and exhibit its products throughout the tournament.

The sponsorship is also good for eight other FIFA events, including the UEFA European Championship 2000 (Euro 2000), FIFA World Youth Championship, FIFA U-17 World Championship, FIFA World Championship for Womenfs Football, FIFA Futsal World Championship, FIFA Blue Stars Youth Cup, FIFA All-Stars vs World Championship.

Occurring once every four years, the FIFA World Cup is the worldfs largest sporting event, even larger than the Olympics.


The France 98 World Cup, in fact, the FIFA World Cup draws more than 172 competing nations and regions and attracted more than 2,770,000 spectators(64 games) to the host nation.
Moreover, the tournament was broadcast via satellite to more than 200 countries and watched by a total estimated 40 billion people on TV.

The event attracted enormous attention in Japan as the countryfs national team participated in the tournament for the very first time.
This contributed to an economic surge in many sectors, most notably sales of audio-visual equipment.

The World Cup will be held in Asia for the first time in 2002. Co-sponsored by Japan and South Korea, JVC will employ its hardware and software know-how in an effort to support the tournament and make it a success.
