Picture

At JVC, we believe that exceptional picture quality is the most important element of a high performance television. In the pursuit of excellence, JVC included three vital elements in every television in our new line.

AV INPUT
See how good direct video can look by connecting a VCR, video game, or any other advanced source and enjoy a brilliant picture. An AV input also means your JVC television is ready for the future sources and entertainment systems that will take family theater into the 21st Century.

BLACK LEVEL EXPANSION
Our Black Level Expansion creates rich velvety blacks so that colors are richer and more vivid. Our new generations of chassis design also means brilliant whites for a dynamic high contrast picture.

APACON
Apacon is a circuit that enhances picture sharpness. It sharpens the transitions between dark and bright by adding preshoot and overshoot and speeding up the transition. Details are enhanced and you see a crisper, sharper picture.

Sound

JVC feels that sound is the second most vital element of a high performance television, and therefore we have designed many sound benefits into our new TV line. Whether listening to the set's own speakers, or connecting to a Hi-Fi system, these JVC TV's sound great.

HYPER SURROUND

Hyper Surround creates the impression of a 3-dimensional soundfield using just the front fitting speakers. It sounds like you are right in the middle of the action, but there's no need for rear speakers. Hyper Surround electronically processes any stereo audio signal by manipulating the phase relationships and frequency response for a fuller, 3-D effect.

MTS WITH dBX AND SAP
Every JVC stereo television has high performance MTS with dBX for superb stereo sound. Whether you use the TV's already superior sound system, or connect the TV to a multi-channel sound system, it sounds great.

SAP
SAP (Second Audio Program) decodes any second language translation that may be part of the program.

FRONT FIRING SPEAKERS
All 20 inch and larger TV's are designed with front-firing speakers. Because the speakers are aimed directly at the viewer, a rich, clear sound stream is created that enhances both music soundtracks and dialog.

Convenience

Every television set in our new line-up is flexible in operation and connection. These sets minimize hassles so that the whole family can enjoy the entertainment without being technical wizards

SPEAKER ON/OFF IN MENU
You can switch the TV's speakers to off when you want to listen to a multi-channel AV receiver as the sound system. Switch the speakers back to on when you just want to watch the news.

SWITCHABLE FIXED/VARIABLE AUDIO OUTPUT
Use the fixed Audio Output if you connect the TV sound to a remote controlled AV receiver. Or switch to the Variable Audio Output if you want to use a non remote controlled audio system, then your TV's remote will control the volume.

AV COMPU LINK
A super convenient feature from JVC Family Theater, AV COMPU LINK creates a fully automated interactive entertainment system by linking select JVC Hi-Fi receivers, VCR's and television sets. Slide a video tape into the VCR and the whole system springs to life and automatically selects the proper settings. You are watching a movie without touching a single button--all you have to do is make the popcorn.

SUPER COMMAND
This year all JVC televisions use award winning Super Command style menus. Introduced last year by JVC in our top models, super Command was so successful that we had to make it the operating system in all of our sets.
Now, every set has the same 4-way cursor controlled operation. Scroll up and down and select or adjust with left and right. The 4-way keys on the remote work just like a video game controller. So simple anyone can use it.

ADVANCED, EASY TO USE, COLOR-CODED, ICON BASED OSD
Super Command means quick and easy access to all of the features of JVC. Our unique, sharp scrolling menus are color-coded with the most vibrant look we could develop. Combined with the 4-way cursor of the remote controls, Super Command provides access to all the features of JVC it's as easy as pressing up and down and left and right.

NEWLY DESIGNED REMOTE CONTROLS
All JVC Remotes feature newly designed four way cursor control and are completely user friendly. The 90 series remotes are illuminated for the true home theater atmosphere.

All of our sets have a standard package of features that will provide the entire family with a TV that's versatile and easy to use. Here's the features you'll come to expect.

Channel Guard
on all 181 channels locks out unauthorized viewers. (Sorry kids.)

Clock
tells the time and is the heart of all timer functions.

On/Off Timer
makes it seem like you're home watching TV when you're really not. You can also set it to remind you of a favorite program, or set it to wake you up in the morning.

Sleep Timer
puts the TV to sleep (after you've already gone there) up to three hours later.

Automatic Channel Programming
means no blank, noisy channels while scanning.

Noise Mute
means no noisy weak channels.

Closed Caption Decoder w/Full Text Mode
decodes any captions or other information that is included in a program.

Display
shows the status of the TV's timers and inputs, or you can continuously display the time or a channel number.

Video Status Memory
saves a complete set of your favorite picture adjustments and instantly resets to the factory standard.
