JVC INTRODUCES THE RX-1024VBK RECEIVER
Las Vegas, NV, January 8, 1998 — JVC unveils a new flagship receiver, the RX-1024VBK, with built-in Dolby Digital decoding. The fully discrete 100W x 5 (130 x 2) amplifier section is rated into 4 ohms for all channels. The amplifier is JVCÃs exclusive Dynamic Super A design which eliminates the crossover and switching distortion normally associated with high-efficiency Class AB amplifiers, resulting in lower distortion and improved sound quality at all levels.
In addition to the 8 gold-plated analog inputs, there is one coaxial and 2 optical inputs. With all of the digital sources available today (DBS, CD, MD, DVD, etc.) JVC has wisely developed these digital inputs to be assignable to whatever source the customer may have. These digital inputs then feed JVCÃs legendary K2 Interface. Based on the principle that digital waveforms are not pure and absolute as widely perceived, but are, in fact, very susceptible to jitter and waveform distortions, the K2 Interface completely re-creates the incoming digital waveform before it is converted by the D/A converter. This new "exact" waveform allows the D/A converter to create a more expansive and resolute soundstage.
On the ease-of-use front, the RX-1024VBK incorporates JVCÃs proprietary TEXT COMPU LINK technology. With TEXT COMPU LINK, CD TEXT or programmed title information derived from JVCÃs new XL-MC334BK 200 CD mega-changer, for example, is transferred to the receiverÃs fluorescent display and consequently, the built-in multi-color OSD. This allows the customer to see their title information even if the CD changer is hidden out of view. They can also select and categorize their titles, by name, from the comfort of their easy chair using the OSD in conjunction with the remote.
Rounding out the RX-1024VBK feature content: All 5 video inputs include S-video jacks, all speaker outputs are banana-type, and the "no touch" Home Theater automation system, AV COMPU LINK, is included.
The RX-1024VBK will be available in June for a nationally advertised price of $900.
