JVC OFFERS FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT ON THE ROAD

WITH MOBILE A/V SYSTEM

Las Vegas, NV, January 8, 1998—JVC, an all-around entertainment equipment provider, is introducing a complete high-performance audio-visual system specifically designed for in-car use. Featuring a VCR, color TV system and central A/V control receiver, this new A/V system from JVC makes it possible to take the home theater experience on the road.

KD-SX1000R A/V CONTROL CD RECEIVER

This core of the system is equipped with video equipment and 12-CD changer control capabilities so you can configure a complete in-car entertainment system in which all sources are accessible from the control panel or provided remote control. Plus as one of JVCÃs top-of-the-line models, the KD-SX1000R comes with a powerful array of high-performance features that work together to ensure a truly enjoyable "home theater" style entertainment experience.

For relaxed viewing/listening enjoyment, Audio Cruise Mode automatically optimizes the volume level to accommodate changes in your vehicleÃs speed. 40 W x 4 output power enabled by an exclusive high-power IC provides your system with an expansive audio environment. Sound Control Memory allows you to enjoy preset or your customized equalization patterns.

With two pairs of corrosion-resistant gold-plated line output terminals, you can even configure a higher-grade full-channel A/V system with multiple additional amplifiers. To ensure a higher signal-to-noise ratio and wider dynamic range, a high 4-volt output level for external amplifiers eliminates distortion at high volume levels. The Amp Defeat Switch also eliminates distortion by cutting off the current through the receiverÃs amp and suppressing heat. Plus line input terminals allow you to connect an additional source.

Besides getting control of all audio and video sources via the provided remote control, the KD-SX1000R features the added operational convenience of a unique multi-purpose Rotary Encoder Multi-Control. By changing the mode, the same dial gives you control over either volume level, sound characteristics or even general settings.

Also convenient is the KD-SX1000RÃs CD Text compatibility. Whenever you load a CD-Text-compatible CD, information about the disc ³ such as the title and the name of the artist ³ is shown on the display. If you are using JVCÃs new CH-X1200 12-CD Changer, CD Text information from discs in the changer is also displayed.

Better yet, the sophisticated RDS (Radio Data System) tuner system detects program identification signals from all available stations, automatically switching to the appropriate station when a specified source is detected. You can assign a particular station type ³ such as sports, news or music ³ to a one-touch button, so you can always have immediate access to the kind of programming you want at the touch of a button.

KZ-V10 MOBILE VIDEO CASSETTE RECORDER

Like any high-end home VCR, the compact KZ-V10 features 4 video heads to ensure superb picture quality without bar noise and blurring. It can also play back S-VHS format tapes (S-VHS Quasi-Playback), and features hi-fi stereo for the ultimate in home theater-quality picture and sound performance. Because the VCR is exclusively designed for car use, each component has been selected for its durability and resistance to harsh environments. Even when exposed to the high vibrations, variable temperatures and dust typical of the in-car environment, the KZ-V10 continues to play back videos as smoothly as a home VCR. And thanks to its stable mechanism and circuitry, this compact unit can be installed either vertically or horizontally, making it easy to install in any vehicle. A dust protection cover on the slot is provided for vertical installation.

MOBILE COLOR TV SYSTEM

JVC will offer a mobile color TV system to complete the AV package. Specifications of the LCD monitor will be released at a later date.

Best known for its invention of the world-standard VHS video format, JVC is committed to developing products that offer consumers a balanced mix of "advanced technology, desirable features, design, handling and value". The new In-Car A/V System reflects that commitment, proving once again the value of JVCÃs customer-driven approach to consumer electronics design ³ an approach that will continue to drive the industry forward as we move into the next millennium.
