The new JVC KD-MX3000 is the same size as a conventional receiver, yet offers two-in-one format flexibility and a full feature set for maximum in-car convenience.

The KD-MX3000Ãs 1-bit DAC MD/CD player incorporates unique traverse and servo mechanisms which have made possible an unprecedented degree of compactness. It accepts either type of disc ³ MiniDiscs or 5-inch / 3.5-inch Compact Discs ³ through a single slot, automatically detecting the disc type and playing it back. The secret is its exclusively developed pickup and spindle shared by both formats, which automatically move to the appropriate position for an MD or CD depending on which format has been inserted. Laser depth is also controlled precisely for each standard. Consequently, the format boundary between them as been eliminated.

The MiniDisc (MD) format is not only conveniently small, it also features a high-fidelity digital sound, plus more convenient play functions. And a 10-second shock-proof memory for MDs ensures playback stability. Best of all, with a MD recorder at home, you can create your own customized music discs with great digital sound, and enjoy them in your car.

One of the bonuses of the MD is that it is able to display information about the disc or tune you entered while recording, like the title and the artist, on the receiverÃs LCD display. At JVC, we took that a step further. With Station/Disc Name Registration, you can enter the names of both radio stations and CDs inserted in the headunit. The KD-MX3000 will memorize any names you enter ³ making it much easier to remember whatÃs on the radio or in the player. The new Rotary Encoder Multi-Control dial makes the registrations handier ³ just rotate the dial and select the appropriate characters. When in a different mode, the same dial gives you control over volume level, sound characteristics and even general settings.

In addition to such great format versatility, the KD-MX3000 comes with a powerful array of high-performance features as one of JVCÃs top-of-the-line models. For relaxed listening enjoyment, Audio Cruise Mode automatically optimizes the volume level to accommodate changes in your vehicleÃs speed. 40 W x 4 output power enabled by an exclusive high-power IC provides the system with an expansive power environment. With two pairs of corrosion-resistant gold-plated line output terminals, you can configure a higher-grade full-channel audio system with multiple additional amplifiers. The "direct-start" COMPU PLAY function and a provided remote control will make it easy to control over any available sources.

Better yet, to make headunit operation easier, a bright CFL backlight and LCD contrast control are provided so you can increase visibility by adjusting the contrast level to that most suitable for the driverÃs position and the installed position of the unit. To reduce heat from the backlight unit, a cooling fan is provided on the back to keep the precision mechanism and the disc from overheating.

For extra versatility, the KD-MX3000 also comes with a matching set of CD changer control functions including Direct Disc Select and two-mode Repeat/Random/Intro Scan, in addition to a complete complement of standard controls for the onboard MD/CD. Also, with JVCÃs new CH-X1200 12-CD Changer connected and CD Text-compatible CDs, information about CDs inside the changer is displayed on this receiver.
