FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - CES BOOTH #1237
JVC FS SERIES COMPONENT SYSTEMS PROVIDE WIDER CHOICE IN FINISH AND BUILD
Las Vegas, NV, January 8, 1998 JVC set a quality benchmark in 1997 with the "Executive Desk Stereo" Series by introducing an entirely new set of standards to the market. Now, JVC is improving the series with the FS-5000 and FS-7000, and expanding the series with one CD/MD unit, the FS-MD9000.
A new visual attraction for the FS-7000/5000 is an exclusive double-layer fluorescent display. This convenient feature shows an analog clock display on the second layer so that the clock remains lit during standby mode. It is also equipped with 20-minute backup to guard against power failure plus a dimmer function for nighttime. When the unit is on, you can choose between the clock display or playback information.
JVC is proud to add MD to the FS Series with the FS-MD9000, the world's smallest one-box MiniDisc system. The unit includes a CD player and MD recorder with 1-bit D/A and A/D converters. It features 5-mode MD edit functions (Title Input/Divide/Join/Move/Erase), optical digital output, and a Sampling rate converter (32kHz/44.1kHz/48kHz).
Enhanced speaker technologies are utilized for more natural sound in the FS series. The FS-MD9000 speakers are constructed with Metal Hyper Olefin Cones and Medium Density Fiberboard Cabinets which effectively suppress cabinet resonance for powerful bass from a compact cabinet. The powerful bass is combined with crisp and brilliant mids and highs. The FS-MD9000 speakers are also black lacquered for a fine grand piano-finish.
The FS-7000 utilizes Ceramic Hyper Olefin Cones and Real Cherrywood Cabinets. The combination results in warm, low-distortion mids and highs, and the most natural reproduction of acoustical instruments. The FS-7000 also features 3-Mode Gain Control, which reduces amplifier noise during low-level listening resulting in improved signal to noise while offering finer volume control. Both the FS-MD9000 and FS-7000 speakers are equipped with shielded drivers for extra protection.
The FS-5000 speakers constructed with Hyper Neo Olefin cones and Medium Density Fiberboard with a birds-eye maple finish.
Each of the FS Series units include Active Hyper-Bass SUPER PRO, 13W x 2 power amplifier, digital tuner, and a line-level subwoofer output.
The FS-5000 and 7000 are available in July at a nationally advertised price of $330 and $430 respectfully. The FS-MD9000 will be available in September for $770.
