JVC WINS EXECUTIVE VOTE AGAIN WITH SLEEK NEW STYLINGS OF EXPANDED FS EXECUTIVE DESK AND MICRO SYSTEMS SERIES

Las Vegas, NV (CES, January 7-10, 1999) -- JVC set a quality benchmark in 1997 with the "Executive Desktop Stereo" Series by introducing an entirely new set of standards to the market. Now, in 1999, JVC is improving its lineup with the introduction of the FS-V9MD and FS-V5 one-box MD/CD micro systems and with its new Executive Desk model, the FS-8000. Popular Executive Desk systems from 1998 will continue, including the FSMD9000, the FS-7000 and the FS-5000.

Vertical Loading is First for JVC Feeding market demand for its popular FS series, JVC is expanding its offering with the launch of two strikingly attractive small shelf systems: the FS-V9MD and the FS-V5. Both feature unique vertical CD loading capabilities and motor-driven CD door with backlit panel so music aficionados can explore their options without skimping on style.

JVC's distinctive vertical CD loading provides an interesting, artistic dimension as listeners can see the disc being played as it spins behind the glass door. The upright, motor-driven CD door with LCD panel can be opened or shut with the touch of a finger, and is as easy to use as it is fascinating to watch.

Multi-Level Display Gives Time and Playback Information This exclusive double-layer fluorescent display, native to the FS-5000, FS-7000, and FS-8000 models, conveniently features an analog clock display on the second layer so that the clock remains lit during standby mode. It is also equipped with 20-minute backup to guard against power failure plus a dimmer function for nighttime. When the unit is on, you can choose between the clock display or the playback information.

Unique Snooze Function The Clock is equipped with Timer and Snooze functions. Working without the noise of an alarm, this unit instead selects both source and volume so you can fall asleep with quiet radio and wake up with loud CD playing. Controls are independent for your choice of audio listening, volume and timing.

Enhanced speaker technologies are utilized for more natural sound in the FS series (FS/MD9000, FS-7000 and FS-5000). Each unit includes Active Hyper-Bass SUPER PRO, 13W x 2-power amplifier, digital tuner, and a line-level subwoofer output. Aspiring CEOs will love the cool, optical digital output and fully-enhanced remote control.

Metallic Design Appeals to Upscale Listeners The FS-V9MD combines beauty and technology with sleek silver styling and a fluorescent blue backlit LCD panel and coordinating navy blue speaker grilles. This state-of-the-art-engineering marvel from JVC combines MD and CD in a one-box, one-chassis Micro that's extremely easy to use. The FS-V9MD CD player and MD recorder includes 1-bit D/A and A/D converters. Pumping out 14 watts x 2 of power, this silver and blue beauty features 5-mode MD edit functions (Title Input/Divide/Join/Move/Erase) for total music control. A sampling rate converter (32kHz/44.1kHz/48kHz) allows recording from various digital mediums.

Distinctive Amber Beauty For listeners who prefer a cassette deck but like the design of JVC's compact systems, the company offers the FS-V5 shelf system. Sharing a similar cosmetic look to the FS-V9MD, the FS-V5 features a champagne color front panel with amber backlights and a woodgrain finished speaker cabinet.

Looking and Sounding in Charge with JVC The newest FS-8000 Executive Desk System feature a pair of newly-developed ultra-compact oval speakers constructed with European cherrywood enclosures combined with an Eight-(8) inch, 50 Watt powered sub woofer. Active HyperBass Super PRO maximizes bass while 3-mode gain control improves sound quality and adjusts output levels in fine steps during low-listening levels. Motor driven volume controls maximize audio impact.

The new FS-8000 offers amber backlit display with Champagne-gold aluminum panels.

Lasting Value with JVC Three FS Series models continue from 1998: the FS-MD9000, the FS-7000 and the FS-5000.

The FS-MD9000 is bold and beautiful, presenting speakers constructed with Metal Hyper Olefin Cones and Medium Density Fiberboard Cabinets, which effectively suppress cabinet resonance for powerful bass from a compact cabinet. The powerful bass is combined with crisp and brilliant mids and highs. The FS-MD9000 speakers are also black lacquered for a fine grand piano-finish.

The FS-7000 utilizes Ceramic Hyper Olefin Cones and Real Cherrywood Cabinets to create a combination which results in warm, low-distortion mids and highs, and the most natural reproduction of acoustical instruments. The FS-7000 also features 3-Mode Gain Control, which reduces amplifier noise during low-level listening resulting in improved signal to noise while offering finer volume control. FS-7000 speakers are additionally equipped with shielded drivers for use near TV's or computer monitors.

The FS-5000 speakers constructed with Hyper Neo Olefin cones and Medium Density Fiberboard with a birds-eye maple finish.

Pricing and Availability The MD component system FS-V9MD, will be available in September at a nationally advertised value of $550. The FS-V5 micro system will be available in July at a nationally advertised value of $330.

The Executive Desk Series FS-8000 will be available in July for a nationally advertised value of $550. The FS-MD9000, FS-7000 and FS-5000 are currently available for nationally advertised values of $770, $430, and $330 respectively.
