JVC INTRODUCES XV-D701BK DVD Video Player

Complete with a Dolby Digital Decoder and 5.1-channel out Las Vegas (CES, January 7 - 10, 1999) -- JVC's flagship DVD Video player, the XV-D701BK is about to hit the market. The player comes complete with a Dolby Digital decoder and 5.1-channel analog outputs.

A specialist in video, JVC has ensured that the XV-D701BK delivers it's best ever, high-quality picture. The VFP (Video Fine Processor), a JVC exclusive, is a user adjustable picture enhancement which reduces noise and sharpens images. The high-bit/high-sampling (10-bit/27MHz) video D/A converter cuts signal loss and digital noise. Using the component output (PR, PB and Y), users can enjoy crisp, pure colors.

The JVC XV-D701BK boasts an exceptionally wide dynamic range of 108dB. Two JVC exclusives are responsible�the 96kHz K2 Interface and the P.E.M. D.D. Converter. The former eliminates ripples and jitters for accurate signal transmission, while the latter allows high resolution and a high signal-to-noise ratio.

Using a TV screen GUI (Graphical User Interface) provides easy, intuitive operation. The Illumi-Guide feature illuminates correct keys to guide the user through various operations. Digest, Zoom and Strobe functions add variety to DVD playback. Digest displays a grid of 3 x 3 scenes the first scene of each title or chapterfor instant selection and play.

Other features include S-video output, 3D-PHONIC virtual surround for realistic presence from two speakers up front, two digital outputs (optical/coaxial), DTS Digital Out, gold-plated terminals, multi-brand remote control with a joystick, English/French/Spanish OSD, a coordinated home theater look and AV COMPU LINK for coordinated operation with JVC TVs and receivers. The XV-D701BK will be available in February at a nationally advertised price of $599.95
