JVC COMPANY OF AMERICA
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Las Vegas, NV (CES, January 7 , 1999)
Las Vegas, NV, (CES, January 7-10, 1999) JVC's Mobile Electronics Division is again setting new standards with its lineup of Dual-Format players, including its latest offering, the KD-MX3000 -- the world's first Single-DIN Receiver capable of playing both CDs and Mini-Discs (MDs).
Owning JVC's KD-MX3000 is like having two audio receivers in one with its unique ability to play either CDs or MDs (mini-discs). And when connected to JVCs available CH-X1200 12-disc CD Changer, the KD-MX3000 is especially convenient and user-friendly.
Shock-Proof MD Technology Raises the Performance Bar
The KD-MX3000 is setting the bar higher for audio aficionados with a newly incorporated Full Floating mechanism, which protects CDs, and MDs against shocks while driving. Using hybrid elastomer dampers which float the whole mechanism whenever a disc is played, sounds are smoother and discs are safer.
Increased stability and safety. Unique 10-second MD shockproof memory lets the song play through even if the unit is bumped or shocked. The Single-Pickup feature of this single-DIN receiver is shared by both formats, and a Swing Traverse Mechanism with double spindles holds MDs and CDs tightly secure. Loading is easy through an automatic free-loading slot which accepts MDs and CDs alike.
The KD-MX3000 is also front or rear mountable and has a detachable control panel with a flip-down face and a stunning, multi-color LCD panel.
The KD-MX3000 boasts a unique laser pickup shared by both formats that shifts automatically between MD and CD positions and precise laser depth control for the two different systems. Other major features of the KD-MX3000 include a controllable CD changer, Intro Scan for previewing selections, MD text indication (this capability is only activated when connected to the available CH-X1200 12-disc CD changer), CD text indication capability, MD shock-proof memory (10 seconds), 40 W x 4 power output terminals (2 pair), Line Inputs, audio cruise mode and remote control.
The KD-MX3000 has changer control with direct disc select (1-12), a tuner with 18 + 6 (FM+AM) presets, and an amplifier with sound control memory and volume attenuator. The CD and MD players are both 1-bit DAC, and share the features of direct track select (1-12), random/repeat play and intro scan. The MD player has disc/track title indication.
JVC's KD-MX3000 is currently available at a nationally advertised value of $749.95.
