JVC INTRODUCES THE MD RECORDER WITH TEXT COMPU LINK & FULL KEYBOARD REMOTE- THE NEXT STEP IN TITLING

Las Vegas, NV (CES, January 7-10, 1999) JVC continues to answer the call of mega-CD charger owners fed up with the tedious task of inputting all the titles for each disc - one by one, letter by letter an especially cumbersome chore when making MD recordings. JVC's new XM-448BK MD Recorder incorporates exciting CD Text technology and takes it to the next logical step for serious users.

Using JVC's TEXT COMPU LINK system, CD Text information can be transferred from JVCs XLMC334BK changer directly to the XM-448BK recorder and automatically encoded on the MD. Now the titling is also viewable both on the JVC Text-CompuLink equipped receiver's display and on your television thanks to the receiver's OSD. Music buffs can better enjoy their equipment by using TEXT COMPU LINK to easily access any title by name, performer, or genre simply by selecting the first letter of the name in the category you have chosen and then selecting the displayed list.

Remote Control Has Full QWERTY Keyboard
Titles can also be added to MDs via JVCs new titling remote, which is included with the XM-448BK MD Recorder. The XM-448BKs remote control looks and acts like a standard remote with it's closed. When its opened, it exposes a full standard QWERTY keyboard for titling your music during recording or playback. The QWERTY keyboard allows users to conveniently type as they would with a standard typewriter or computer keyboard. An infrared signal sends this data to the recorder.

5-Mode MD Edit Functions
The XM-448BK features a number of versatile editing functions to facilitate uncomplicated MD recording. These include Divide, Join, Move, Erase and All Erase. For ease of operation, the unit has jog dial and a 20-track programming for smart, random or repeat play. A sampling rate converter (32kHz/44.1kHz/48kHz) ensures compatibility with any digital input source. The XM-448BK features 1-bit D/A and A/D converters.

The XM-448 BK will be available in March for a nationally advertised price of $280.
