JVC INTRODUCES CD CHANGER CONTROLLABLE DOUBLE-DIN CD/CASSETTE RECEIVERS WITH HIGH-POWER OUTPUT AND VERSATILE FEATURE SET

Las Vegas, NV (CES, January 7-10, 1999) -- JVC, one of the world's leading integrated multimedia and electronics manufacturers, is introducing a double-DIN CD/Cassette Receiver for 1999 that brings a new level of performance and flexibility to mobile audio. The KW-XC550 incorporates a full-function auto-reverse cassette deck, a CD player and is also equipped with a versatile array of features and functions including CD changer control capability.

CD Changer Control
This powerful 40 W x 4 receiver comes with a full set of CD changer control functions including Direct Disc Select and two-mode Repeat/Random to provide complete control over a connected JVC 12-CD changer. New JVC changers such as the CH-X200 CD changer can easily be connected to the KW-XC550 using JVC's exclusive J-Link connection which combines power and signal cables into a single, easy-to-connect cable. A convenient wireless remote control is provided so you can safely and accurately control various functions on the receiver and a connected changer without even having to look at or touch the display. The KW-XC550 is also equipped with a pair of gold-plated line out terminals so you'll be able to configure an unbeatable audio system with multiple additional amplifiers.

Multi-Color LCD
This large, attractive, easy-to-see display makes it easy for the driver to check receiver functions and status at a glance and features an 8-mode spectrum analyzer that provides a multi-color moving pattern display. Also incorporated is a new CFL backlight that's twice as bright as a conventional display and generates less heat, reducing power consumption and assuring a longer service life. Illuminated operation keys assure fumble-free operation in the dark.

Soft-Touch Cassette Operation With Full-Logic Mechanism
The KW-XC550 incorporates a Full Logic Mechanism controlled by an exclusive IC for convenient soft-touch cassette operation control and improved track access. Multi Music Scan, for example, lets you skip tracks either forwards or backwards according to the number of times you press the forward/rewind keys.

Other features of the KW-XC550 include Dolby B Noise Reduction which reduces tape hiss noise by more than 8 dB to assure clearer high frequencies, an HS-II tuner, and Sound Control Memory.

The KW-XC550 will be available in March for a nationally advertised value of $429.95.
