JVC TAKES ITS RADICAL NEW STYLE IN PORTABLES TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Las Vegas, NV (CES, January 7-10, 1999) -- Radical looks and sounds are coming from JVC's new RV-B99 Kaboom Box. This hip CD player, available this year in duo-toned black/silver or gray/black is packed with superb audio features including Twin 6 1/2" Super Woofers and Twin Ducts with rugged tubular construction.

Play-A-Long or Sing-A-Long Kaboom Boxes are in high demand, and JVC is feeding the need with exciting upgrades to its most popular portable. This year, each 1999 Kaboom Box is standardly equipped with a 1/4-inch jack for a guitar/mic input with level control for extra fun playing or singing along to a favorite tune.

Thundering Power and Super Exciter Bass Blows Away the Competition This uniquely styled portable audio system boasts the Super Exciter Bass Circuit - a compressor unit that intensifies low-frequency ensuring dynamic and lifelike low-bass sound. ACS (Active Clear Sound) actively controls high frequencies to keep noise to a minimum. ACS delivers balanced response over the entire audible range by becoming active only when high-frequency signals are present.

The 4-amp configuration for the Twin Super Woofers and stereo full-range speakers thunders with high power totaling 52 Watts. Additional features include 6-layer voice coils an weight rings for the Super Woofers, R-core transformer, Twist lock CD and cassette doors, auto-reverse cassette transport, digital tuner, back-lit LCD and COMPU PLAY.

New, Petite Kid Kaboom For Magnified Portability Following in the big footsteps of JVC's sought-after Kaboom Box comes a new generation of sound Kid Kaboom. Featuring new stylized colors of blue/silver and gray/silver and a petite, easy-to-carry size, JVC's new Kid Kaboom Box packs an audio punch like its big brother but is much lighter then its sibling which allows easy mobility. Mirroring the larger RV-B99 sound system in its tubular construction, the lightweight RV-B55GY/BU unit features larger diameter (4) dual front speakers and long labyrinth ducts that maximizes the bass tones by funneling sound out of each end without the weight of separate subwoofers. While the size and wattage (22watts) have been reduced from the original model, the sound is still exceptionally large.

The streetwise RV-B99 Kaboom Box is available in March 1999 for a nationally advertised price of $330. The lighter-weight RV-B55GY/BU system will be available in June 1999 for a nationally advertised price of $230.
