SHOCK-PROOF MEMORY IMPROVEMENT HIGHLIGHTS JVC PERSONAL CD PLAYERS

Orlando, FL, April 13, 1997...The JVC-developed Triple Shock Protection technology pushes the envelope to 10 seconds (up from three) with its new line of Personal CD Players -- the XL-P63CR, XL-P53CR, XL-P43, and XL-P33.

In addition to a new disc-sized design, the new models also boast a reduction in power consumption.

10-Second Triple Shock Protection (10 Sec. TSP) -- featured on all four units -- combines three JVC exclusive technologies to keep the music going even when a shock dislodges the pickup. It works in tandem with the Electric Power Saver feature which rotates the disc at double speed only when there's a jolt that threatens to interrupt play, thus extending battery life even when the protection is on. At the same time, a High-Speed Pickup Servo allows the pickup to return to its original position quickly and a Dynamic Suspension System has specially contoured butyl rubber dampers and springs to protect the pickup firm shocks and vibrations.

At the upper end of the line, the XL-P63CR also has a back-illuminated LCD and illuminated keys (when power is supplied via DC IN jack or with AC adaptor). Included accessories are: car/cassette adaptors, headphones, AC adaptor and line cord.

Common to all four models is 1-bit D/A converter; Program (24 tracks-repeat, random play); and Hyper Bass sound.

The XL-P63CR will be available in June with a national advertised value of $160.00. The XL-P53CR also available in June, is nationally advertised for $150.00. The XL-P43 another June entry has a national advertised price of $140.00. And the XL-P33 is currently available with a national advertised price of $120.00.
