JVC ENHANCES TV "SERIES LINE" WITH LARGER SCREENS, MORE FEATURES
-- Emphasis On Home Theater Experience For Consumers
--
Orlando, FL, April 13, 1997... Larger screen dimensions, new cabinets for 27-inch models, a "Family Tree" of newer generation models consisting of the "10 Series," "20 Series," "50 Series," and top-of-the-line "90 Series," and an abundance of state-of-the-art home theater features, highlight JVCÌs 1997 line up of televisions. "JVC continues as a dominate force in the dual tuner PIP category with six models in our 1997 lineup", said Michael Holmes, JVCÌs Merchandising Manager, Color TV Division. "Retailers agree that 2 tuner PIP is easy to sell, and consumers agree itÌs so easy to use, thatÌs because itÌs simple PIP. No more lengthy explanations on the sales floor or complicated hookups", he added.
At the top of the "90 Series," for example, is the new 36-inch unit, the AV-36890 36-inch stereo color TV, jumping up over a similarly styled 35-inch unit from last year. And at the top of the "50 Series" is the AV-36850 36-inch stereo color television, again up from a similarly styled 35-inch unit from last year.
JVC continues to structure its TV line in a "Series" of families: 10 Series, 20 Series, 50 Series, and 90 Series. Sprinkled throughout the entire line are features which will appeal to the high-end family theater-minded connoisseur as well as to the more budget conscious.
At the upper end are such features as TV Guide Plus+, first introduced by JVC last year. This feature is a free TV guide built right into the TV which allows consumers a description and preview of every show on every channel they might be interested in.
2 Tuner PIP (Picture Within Picture) is found on a number of models. With 15% more pixels than the average PIP, consumers can just press the PIP Channel -/+ buttons on the remote control to change the PIP screensÌ channel. ItÌs all built in with no need to attach a VCR. Pressing the Freeze button provides a snapshot of what is on the big screen and it appears in the PIP window. When the Swap button is pressed, the PIP and big screen switch places.
Hyper Surround Sound, also found on many models, creates a deep, 3-dimensional sound effect using just the Front Firing Speakers built right into the TV. It manipulates the phase and frequency response of any stereo signal to make the sound seem to come out into the room with the use of rear speakers. Other Family Theater features include 2 AV inputs, S-Video, and AV Compu Link.
Superb features such as Super Command OSD (On Screen Display), English, Spanish and French Menus, Black Level Expansion, Apacon, Front Firing Speakers and MTS Stereo with dBX are also found on more affordably priced units.
