JVC INTRODUCES ITS FIRST COMPACT VHS WITH FLIP SCREEN
September 12, 1996, Elmwood Park, NJ
...JVC unleashes two Compact
VHS camcorders for the holiday season, each featuring a high
resolution, 100,000-pixel, 3-inch LCD color monitor. The
GR-AXM1U and the GR-AXM4U meet the needs of any camcorder user
by offering both worry-free functions and advanced special
effects.
The high resolution, 100,000-pixel, 3-inch LCD color monitor
simply flips out from the side of the camcorder for convenient
viewing of the action while it's being videotaped. Tilt the LCD
monitor down for high-angle overhead shooting in crowds, or tilt
it up for low-angle shots with a kid's eye view. The monitor
allows for instant play back and viewing of recordings, and the
built-in speaker provides the sound that accompanies the
playback picture.
The GR-AXM4U is the flagship model with 28x Digital Hyper Zoom,
Digital Image Stabilizer, Clear Contour System, Multi-Function
Control and a Full-Function Remote Control. Digital functions
include wipes and fades to give amateur videos a pro "feel"
using digital effects like Mosaic fader, Shutter wipe and Slide
wipe, and other effects such as black & blue faders for slick
scene transitions.
Both the GR-AXM4U and the GR-AXM1U provide high quality picture
performance with a Bright F1.2 Lens and Hi-Sensitivity CCD. The
large caliber F1.2 lens and multi-coating team up to absorb
nearly 1.5 times the light of its predecessor, capturing bright,
superior quality images. A newly developed image sensor
absorbs light more efficiently, ensuring a clear, bright picture
with natural colors and a high signal-to-noise ratio - even when
lighting is poor.
Program AE with Special Effects can be quickly and easily
accessed to create Sepia mode, Twilight mode, Sports mode and
Hi-Speed Shutter, to name a few. Other quality and creativity
features on the camcorders include Quick Response, Full Range AF
with Auto Macro; Instant Titles with 8 present messages; Quick
Access Character Generator for creating personalized messages up
to 18 characters long; Random Assemble Editing; Self Timer; and
Manual Focus.
"We see the LCD-featured camcorder as a growing segment of the
market," said Jerry Barbera, Merchandising Manager of JVC's
Consumer Video Division," and we are excited to participate in
this category in time for the holiday season."
Look for the GR-AXM1U in stores across the country by the end
of this month for a National Advertised Value of $999.95. The
GR-AXM4U will follow in October with a National Advertised Value of
$1199.95.
