Orlando, FL, April 13,1997... JVC is introducing a new generation of "10 Series" televisions -- the C-20810 20-inch color television; the C-13811 13-inch color television; and the C-13810 13-inch color television.

Each has the following features in common: Super Command Remote Control; Super Command OSD (On Screen Display) with English, French and Spanish menus; Multi-Function Time, Channel Guard; and Game Mode. Each unit also features Black Level Expansion and Apacon.

Super Command is a 4-Way Cursor Control on the hand held unit which provides easy access to any feature utilizing a controller similar to a video game controller or computer mouse. Consumers simply scroll to an item and press the left or right arrow.

Multi-Function Time (a.k.a. On/Off Time) turns the TV on and off even when the consumer is not at home, while it also acts as an alarm clock or program reminder turning on the channel of choice automatically at a specified time. Channel Guard allows parents to lock out access to multiple channels to unauthorized viewers. Meanwhile, Game Mode optimizes the color setup of the TV to maximize enjoyment of the new generation of video game consoles on the market today.

Dart Tint CRT on the 20-inch C-20810 provides dark tinted glass faceplates which enhances depth, color, contrast and richness. Black Level Expansion in the video circuitry provides rich, dark blacks to any broadcast or video source; while Apacon is picture enhancement circuitry that sharpens the edges of objects and letters.

Among complete features of the C-20810 are: Super Command Remote Control; Super Command OSD with English, French, and Spanish Menus, Multi-Function Time; Front Firing Speakers, Channel Guard and Game Mode. Video features include: Dark Tint CRT; Black Level Expansion and Apacon. The unit also features a Closed Caption Decoder with Full Text Mode.

The C-13811 and the C-13810 are identical except for their color. The C-13811 is white and the C-13110 is black. Each of the 10 Series televisions will be available in April. The C-20810 has a nationally advertised value of $299.95. The C-13811 and the C-13810 both have a national ad value of $249.95.
