Nikkei Research installed a LAN in December 1995 as an experimental system for sharing among its administrative sections, such as personnel, accounting, and management planning. With a server installed at the center of a floor, offices with an L-shaped layout are covered by a Station-to-Station system. VIPSLAN-10 was specially installed upon anticipating application to temporary network systems outside the company, such as real-time categorizing work by telephone. System architecture expertise is absorbed for future expansion.
