A state-of-the-art infrared wireless LAN is installed to attract new customers and to enhance the company's image. VIPSLAN-10 was installed in its showroom where multimedia equipment applying the latest technology is displayed. The high-speed and reliability features of the infrared wireless LAN are highly evaluated for video-on-demand data transmission. A wireless data transmission system was studied for the showroom to avoid installation of cables on passages where visitors walk. Several candidate products were tested and, of course, VIPSLAN-10 was their final selection. The decisive factor was 10Mbps high-speed transmission for sending high-definition compressed video data from a video server without stresses meeting the MPEG specification.
