JVC's FIRST DVD PLAYER TO OFFER UNPRECENDENTED QUALITY

Victor Company of Japan, Ltd. (JVC) marketed on April 21 the XV-1000, its first-ever DVD player, for \93,000 in Japan, offering unprecedented sound and top-class video, plus numerous other features.

The player is compatible with linear PCM audio, at 20/24-bit, 96kHz sampling frequency to deliver the highest sound quality available today. JVC's 1-bit P.E.M. D.D. Converter LSI ensures rich sound with high resolution and low noise. The K2 Interface, another JVC exclusive, eliminates jitter and ripples to dramatically reduce digital distortion. The XV-1000 has a dynamic range of 108dB, the widest in the industry.
The XV-1000 is ready for Dolby Digital (AC-3), featuring an optical digital output to feed 5.1-channel audio into the user's Dolby Digital decoder.
Picture quality is top-class. An exceptionally high horizontal resolution of more than 500 lines (S-Video input) has been achieved by combining 9-bit, 27MHz oversampling (video) for anti-aliasing and optimized separate Y/C filter, which reduce dot interference and cross-color noise.
Separate power supplies minimize interference between the analog and digital circuitry. To reduce crosstalk between channels, audio and video signals are routed along totally separate paths, providing clean, pure audio and video.
The XV-1000 has been designed with user-friendliness as a top priority. A graphical user interface (GUI) allows easy, versatile operation from the remote control. Sharp or soft picture mode can be selected according to the program being watched. Most DVD functions are supported, including eight languages, multi-angle picture and adjustable aspect ratio.
JVC's DVD player has optical digital (2/5.1 channels) and analog audio outputs, in addition to composite video and S-Video outputs. It is fully compatible with video CDs and music CDs.
The XV-1000 fits in perfectly with home theater systems, sharing common looks design features with JVC A/V receiver. It is equipped with the AV COMPULINK Remote Control Systems: when the user loads a disc into the player and presses the play button, AV COMPULINK automatically turns on the JVC receiver and TV, as well as the player itself, sets the receiver's input to DVD, and starts the play mode.
