History

JVC America, Inc. (JAI) is an operating unit of JVC KENWOOD Corporation (www.jk-holdings.com/en/), a company created by the merger of Victor Company of Japan (JVC) and Kenwood Electronics in 2008. Victor Company of Japan roots can be traced to 1927 and the production of phonograph records. Throughout its history, JVC has been responsible for some of the world’s most innovative products including Japan’s first black and white TV receiver, the first stero record and playback system, and the invention of the VHS video cassette format.

JVC America has been doing business within the United States since April 1987. Since its inception, JAI has been reocognized as a leader in optical media manufacturing and distribution. Our replication plant in Tuscaloosa, AL traces its origins to the music industry. Our first customers included MCA, BMG, RCA and Arista. Throughout our 20+ year history, we have diversified into an array of industries and continuously adapted to the changing needs of our customers. Today, JVC America is an acclaimed, highly diversified company capable of manufacturing media in a variety of formats; providing global supply chain management, logistics and turnkey programs across a diverse group of customers and industries; with a focus on reduction of our Customer’s end-to-end cost of goods.

In 2000, JAI was selected by Microsoft as a launch partner for its Xbox videogame system. We acquired the skill and reputation to become one of the premier manufacturers and packagers of interactive games and enterainment software encompassing all platforms. We are also skilled in the packaging, localization and bundling of consumer electronics and accessories, marketing continuity programs, customer loyalty packages and merchandising.

The JAI fulfillment center in Kennesaw, Georgia opened in 1996 and rapidly expanded to its current 368,000 SQFT location providing a full array of custom packaging, kitting, order fulfillment, product refurbishment and reverse logistics services.
